BREAKING NEWS! (No, REALLY this time!)

Published by marybethellis at 2:13 am under As It Happens Edit This

Recently (okay, somewhat recently) Along The Rails brought you the stunning news that the logos have been released for the 2009 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks.  We now bring you the 2009 Preakness logo.

According to the press release, “The whimsical appeal of the 2009 Preakness logo lay in its simple color palette, contrasting the traditional combination of yellow and black, so emblematic of the Preakness, and Maryland’s favorite bloom, the Black-Eyed Susan.”   Or, in non-marketing speak:  It’s black and white and there’s a flower in there somewhere.

Well, how many different ways can you mix up a black-eyed susan, a horse, and a cupola?  More than one hundred and thirty four?  You’re better at it than I am.
