Azeri, lady horse of mighty feats and mighty controversy, is on the block at Keeneland’s Horses of All Ages Sale next month.

And it’s two for the (supposed) price of one:  She’s pregnant.  The proud daddy is Ghostzapper, Horse of the Year in 2004.  Wow, that’s a power couple.

Azeri was Horse of the Year in 2002– only five other female Thoroughbreds have been so honored.  She is also the only female Eclipse Award winner to have taken home the trophy three times.  She is not to be trifled with.

She’s already proven that she can  baby-make:  With the help of A.P. Indy, she conceived Vallenzeri, who is considered fit to race.
