During last Saturday’s ESPN broadcast of the Notre Dame vs. Washington State game, the camera lingered on a few students buried in their cell phones rather than the game.

“Everybody’s texting these days,” announced color commentator and former Irish coach Bob Davie.

Or maybe they were practicing for today.

The New York Racing Authority has just launched a “mobile wagering application” which will allow users to place bets via cell phone or personal data device.   Not only that, it offers results and account balance updates.

The application, called “mWager,” comes to us from Sona Mobile Holdings Corporation.   One step closer from completely eliminating human interaction from our lives, yep.
