Have You Seen This Horse?
The Bloodhorse has! Big Brown, for the moment, will have to put the lovin’ on hold: He was seen training at Aqueduct in New York on Monday for the second time since the Belmont. It wasn’t a bullet work (meaning, favored newbies, that he was the fastest horse on the track that day); in fact, three other horses finished their workouts faster than he did. But let that not be cause for screeching–he was breezing, not running full-out. In terms of a human workout, he did a couple miles on the treadmill at a dorky fast-walk. No sprinting here, at least not yet.
That’s the good news. The hilarious news is the following quote from Rick Dutrow: “I have nothing more to say. I’m not about to call any reporters up and say any more than that.” Short leash, indeed.
