Clop On

Today I had the honor of meeting Alex the Clydesdale.  Alex is a member of the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales Team.  Alex was incredibly unexcited to meet me.  Alex didn’t get to be a member of the wagon team for nothing.

If you’ve never seen a Clydesdale up close, they have these really frickin’ huge feet, which require shoes the size of a Looney Toons Acme Magnet.  Your average Clydesdale foal could easily terrorize a small to medium-sized neighborhood.

Clydesdales don’t race, but they totally should.  In a nation where small and light = fast and raceable, I’d pay good Euros to see about five of these hosses wedged into a starting gate, then unleashed to clomp the living daylights out of a turf track.  They might be slow, but that’d be some serious noise going around the final turn.  Go Alex, go!
